EASA and Aviation Requirements in Europe

Valerie Landry-Sivel, Quality Section Manager for European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), was a recent guest speaker to the IAQG. Ms. Landry-Sivel provided background on EASA and the rulemaking process for aviation requirements in Europe. While addressing the General Assembly in Florence, she covered the different types of documents, regulatory structures, standards, and general principles. She also discussed harmonization activities that would provide some relief to industry participants. EASA is interested in working together with the industry and standardization bodies to develop key standards to address new technologies and activities.
